The "Super" number on a bolt of wool refers to the fineness of the individual fibers, measured in microns. The higher the number, the finer and softer the yarn — but fineness alone does not determine quality.

Beyond S170, fabrics become exceptionally delicate. These are best reserved for special occasions or clients who rotate their wardrobe frequently. Paired with the right construction, even the finest wools can hold up beautifully.
