The "Super" number on a bolt of wool refers to the fineness of the individual fibers, measured in microns. The higher the number, the finer and softer the yarn — but fineness alone does not determine quality.

An S120 wool, for instance, offers an excellent balance of softness and durability, making it ideal for everyday business suits. Step up to S150 and you enter the realm of luxury — a perceptible difference in hand feel and drape.

Beyond S170, fabrics become exceptionally delicate. These are best reserved for special occasions or clients who rotate their wardrobe frequently. Paired with the right construction, even the finest wools can hold up beautifully.

At Fino, we guide clients through these choices with swatches in hand, ensuring the fabric serves both the aesthetic vision and the practical demands of their life.
